Every day is an opportunity, an opportunity to help. This is my passion.
I graduated from the University of Queensland in 2005 with a Bachelor of physiotherapy (Honours). I started my career working with gynaecology surgery and oncology patients and found a need for there to be ongoing care after a patient left hospital. I furthered my study by completing a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Rehabilitation through Flinders University in 2008 while working in hospitals and outpatient continence clinics. I then went on to complete a Masters in Public Health through the University of Queensland in 2011, growing my passion for women’s and men’s health and health promotion.
I became a Titled Continence and Women’s Health Physiotherapist in 2017 and a Titled Pain Physiotherapist in 2019. These Titles are awarded by the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and are given to those who have been examined and shown to be highly qualified physiotherapists with expert physiotherapy knowledge and skills. A Titled physiotherapist has comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, pathology, physiology, assessment and current evidence based practice in treating issues related to their field of speciality.
I am passionate about empowering patients to heal, improve and understand how best to optimise their own health and wellbeing. I work to relieve dysfunction to improve quality of life and suffering. A key element of my care is implementing a complete and holistic plan that provides up-to-date treatment options and focuses on achieving full recovery. I treat all facets of pelvic health including the management of adult, adolescent and paediatric bladder and bowel disorders, prolapse, pelvic pain and to support women during pregnancy and beyond.
I am available for face-to-face or online consultations.
Professional Events
As part of my ongoing drive to maintain best-practice, I continue to attend many professional development courses and conferences and often make time to work and learn with other specialists in their fields to further my own skill.
I am also committed to providing ongoing education and promotion to improve community awareness of pelvic health.
